Is it really okay to not be okay?
Having a rough bad day, may be a major setback, being away from home. Sometimes, it feels like one thing goes wrong after another. And another, and another. You think you’re not allowed to cry, to admit that you’re not okay, one day you were feeling fine and the next day you feel depressed but yes it’s okay to not be okay.
You will hit the burnout point too often, your career will take over your personal life at some point. The only way you feel like you can break out of your feelings of being lost is to make a life decision like to quit your job or ways to make money without working, but that's not how it works in the real world you have a job to go to and bills to pay.
I'm no expert on the ways to get over this, but a few things that help. Most important one is to do things that make you happy, it may be small things, like eating your favorite food, watching a movie, going for a walk if that helps do it. Don't be afraid to do new things, yes, we will fail, will take a lot of efforts till you can achieve the smallest goal, we can't expect to be good at something at once.
We often hit anxiety and stress, it's very common in today's world, trying to all things is of no good, instead we need to slow down our pace, and jot down the things to do, sort those things by priority, and then start to accomplish them. In such situations, having a rough patch its better not to be quite start to have simple conversations, approach someone you trust may be a relative, a housemate, a friend or colleague or you can also seek advice from a professional.
Over the years, I realized our sadness, is proportional to the amount of comparison, we do, Everyone is struggling; they just don’t always show it. Don’t feel the need to compare yourself to others. Once this stops, you will start to seek happiness in the small things in life.
It’s OK to not know what the hell is going on right now, not knowing how to fix those issues is also okay. Just take it one day at a time, or even one moment at a time. You don’t need to have any solutions. Be patient and look after yourself.
The idea that anyone has to be strong all the time, no matter who they are, is so silly. We all have feelings, we are all human. We aren't perfect and we deserve comfort and reassurance. Hard times might seem impossible to get over, but it helps us to find real us and our strengths. Moving on is important, when we don't do anything because we have so much to worry about, it won't get us anywhere.
