Drupal AI Consulting and Education Technology Training
I'm Joshua Fernandes, a solutions engineer and AI researcher in Goa, India. I have contributed to Drupal since 2015, work inside the Drupal AI Initiative, and research how AI systems behave when empathy and accountability matter. I work with two kinds of people: teams building with Drupal and AI, and schools and colleges bringing technology and AI into the classroom.
Happy to connect. Tell me what you are working on and I will reply with how I can help: get in touch.
Drupal AI consulting
For agencies, product teams and organisations that run Drupal and want to use AI in it responsibly.
- Drupal AI strategy and architecture: where the Drupal AI module, AI Agents and Drupal Canvas fit your site, and where they do not.
- AI provider selection and integration: choosing between OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic and the other 35+ providers, with cost, privacy and rate limits in mind.
- Guardrails and governance: context, review and approval steps so AI-generated content stays accurate and on brand.
- AI evaluation: testing how your AI features actually behave, including the empathy and fairness questions from my research.
- Code review and module work: custom modules, integrations and contributions back to drupal.org.
See it in practice: building a Drupal page with AI using your own component library and Drupal Canvas explained.
Education technology consulting for schools and colleges
For principals, management and IT teams who want technology and AI to help teaching rather than get in its way.
- AI policy for your institution: a clear, practical policy on how students and staff may use AI tools for coursework, assessment and administration.
- Choosing and rolling out digital tools: learning platforms, school and college websites, and the systems behind them.
- Student projects and hackathons: mentoring, judging and helping you run events, as at the Odyssey 2026 hackathon at PCCE.

Faculty training and workshops
Hands-on sessions for teachers and lecturers, in person in Goa or online.
- AI literacy for educators: what tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can and cannot do, and how to use them well.
- Using AI in teaching and assessment: lesson planning, feedback and designing assignments that still test real understanding.
- Responsible and ethical AI: privacy, bias and academic integrity, with examples your staff will recognise.
- Web and open-source skills: Drupal and modern web development for computer science departments.
How we start
Send me a short note about your team or institution and what you want to achieve. I will reply within a few days to set up a short call, then suggest the format that fits: a one-off review, a workshop, or ongoing support.
